p.jamas Luxury Sleepwear from Egyptian Cotton

April 5th, 2009 by T

While most people may not know the brand “p.jamas”, they will probably know the biography of the designer behind this luxury sleepwear company. Upon leaving Vogue magazine, Esperanza Diaz Mañas was asked by a friend to design a line of sleepwear, now known as Notori. Although she established her own sleepwear line in 2000, Esperanza has created private label for Christian Dior Sleepwear, Donna Karan Intimates and Oscar de la Renta Sleepwear.

All aspects of crafting the p.jamas sleepwear are quite intricate including the choice of fabrics, adornments and detailing. Egyptian cotton is spun in Switzerland and woven in Italy to create the highest quality possible. The company actually makes its own knits and the buttons are Japanese mother of pearl. Delicate hand embroidery, needlework and crochet are superb masterpieces in the beautiful bed jackets and nightgowns.

Tp-ajamaso view the sumptuous needlework, an excellent example is the Violeta Bed Jacket, hand smocked and finished with wide crochet trim. Even more delicate is the sweet row of violets adorning the top of the bodice. Another lovely illustration of the fine embroidery is the Diana Gown and Robe, particularly the knee-length nightgown with gorgeous green bodice smocking.

Not only does p.jamas design fancy gowns, but they also offer a wide selection of night shirts, shorts and robes. Their classic robes are made in pretty blue gingham, pink pima cotton poplin, yellow pima flannel, and the most spectacular, Victoria, an ivory coloured baby alpaca robe trimmed in pure silk.

For hot summer nights and a more casual look, the shorts come with long sleeve and sleeveless t-shirts, or tailored blouse type tops to complement the drawstring shorts. Several of the tighter fitting gowns are made from a soft and durable material, the company’s proprietary knit called Butterknit.

In mix and match garments, one of the benefits of this collection is it is as fancy or as casual as you wish.

That looks so soft and comfy. Would like it a little shorter though.
